Currently reading: TORTILLA SUN by Jennifer Cervantes (fellow Tenner)

2010 is almost here. As a sneak peak to a year of incredible debut books, our first books from 2K10 and the Tenners have launched.

Congrats to Alexandra Diaz on her new book OF ALL THE STUPID THINGS. I was lucky enough to read a pre-pub copy and it’s fabulous.

You can read more about Alexandra’s book on the Class of 2K10 website.

Three Tenners have also had releases this week.  Congrats to Jaclyn Dolamore for MAGIC UNDER THE GLASS, Bree Despain for THE DARK DIVINE and Lindsey Eland for SCONES AND SENSIBILITY. Read more about them on the Tenners site. And Becca Fitzpatrick’s HUSH HUSH, the first Tenner book has us all in awe.

Speaking of the Tenners, there’s an amazing new trailer for the January-February-March books. Come view it. It made me want to read every one. I can’t wait until CHANGE OF HEART is in the next one.

As to CHANGE OF HEART: things are progressing beautifully. I did several rounds of edits and it is now in the capable hands of the copy editor. It’s been fun hearing everyone’s reaction to the cover. I love it, but am hoping it’s not too reminiscent of TWILIGHT. I think it’s perfect for my story, so hopefully people won’t get too caught up in that. And people are saying that if the resemblance makes readers pick it up, even if only out of curiosity, then that’s not such a bad thing, right?!

This is my last post for the decade. What an amazing decade it’s been. In 2000 I gave birth to my third child (it’s always easy to figure out how old Eric is) and I’ve watched my kids grow from teeny pre-schoolers to wonderful teens/pre-teens. At the risk of being gushy (but what the heck, it’s the end of the decade), I’ve been so lucky to be home with them and share so many wonderful things and then to have the luxury to start a writing career. My husband is incredibly supportive — emotionally, financially and every other way he could be over the past 25 years together. I got to fulfill my dreams of going to London, Paris, Rome and Jerusalem (not to mention Hawaii, Colorado, and lots of fun places in the Caribbean). I’ve got lots of family, both near and far and friends that I could not have survived the past years without. Life is good.

    Happy New Year!
